Bargaining Partners

MAJOR CONTRACT BARGAINING PARTNERS

The following are the major employers, or entities that represent multiple employers, with whom we negotiate our employment contracts.

Who We Are
The Joint Policy Committee, LLC, the JPC, represents the American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA) and the Association of National Advertisers (ANA), who have authorized us to collectively bargain on their behalf with SAG-AFTRA and the American Federation of Musicians, on the collective bargaining agreements that govern the use of performers and musicians in commercials (collectively, the “CBAs”).

What We Do
In addition to negotiating the CBAs every 3 years, the JPC educates the industry on all issues relating to the CBAs through nationwide town halls, individual seminars for advertisers and agencies, and presentations to industry committees. We serve as the industry’s unified voice in dialogue with the unions regarding CBA interpretations, questions, claims, and grievances.

Since 1982, the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) has been the trade association responsible for negotiating virtually all industry-wide guild and union contracts, including those with American Federation of Musicians (AFM); Directors Guild of America (DGA); International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE); International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW); Laborers Local 724; Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA); Teamsters, Local #399; and Writers Guild of America (WGA) among others. The AMPTP, the entertainment industry's official collective bargaining representative, negotiates 58 industry-wide collective bargaining agreements on behalf of hundreds of motion picture and television producers.
